Here is a beginner technique for painting crashing waves on the beach 🎨🌊 Once you get this concept down it should be easier to imagine other variations!
Painting Steps:
1. Background: 00:00
2. Ocean color: 1:06
3. Ocean ripples: 1:34
4. "Infinity Symbol" wave painting guideline: 2:24
5. Directional wave brush strokes: 3:54
6 Wave highlights: 5:55
7. Wet sand and sea foam: 6:55
8. Crashing wave texture: 8:17
9. Splatter paint splash texture: 9:38
10. Beach sand texture and final details: 10:19

🎨Acrylic Colors:
Light blue
White
Navy Blue
Green Blue
Tan
Dark brown
Light Brown
Brushes:
Mop Brush
Size 3 round
Size 4 fan
Splatter brush (toothbrush or stiff bristle brush)
If you struggle painting ocean waves the "infinity symbol" can help you understand the shape and direction your brushstrokes should follow. Don't forget to add texture and splatter for the splash! I used my mop brush for the crashing texture but you could use a sponge or any other texture tool you have available. Splatter paint for the sand is also a fun little detail that can make your beach look more realistic. I LOVE all your suggestions for additional details- a lighthouse, sailboats, starfish and seashells were among the top ideas, but don't forget to get creative and make it your own!
