Chasing Coastlines via Split, Croatia

Split wasn’t rushed. We explored Diocletian’s Palace and drifted through beautiful old narrow streets with no plan except great food and curiosity. We drank strong espresso, walked through light rainstorms rolling in from the Adriatic, and ate whatever looked good (which was EVERYTHING)-including Rob trying oysters for the first time (how is that even possible?). We spent way too long at a hookah bar right across from the palace, people and sunset watching. We watched locals and fellow tourists play picigin on the beach like it was serious business, and made daily gelato non-negotiable. I tried to befriend every cat in the city (there’s no shortage of friendly felines to engage). We discovered a hilariously charming tiny museum full of 100-year-old taxidermied frogs posed like humans (sadly, no photos allowed). Split unfolded one beautiful day at a time. No schedule. No rush. Just a truly great trip.
