Why the First Day on the Black Whale Was a Disaster

The Succession War begins on Day 1 aboard the Black Whale — and it's pure chaos from the first hour. Prince Benjamin mobilizes his soldiers, Nen spreads faster than anyone expected, and Kurapika is forced to protect Prince Woble while uncovering a web of assassinations he can't stop. Meanwhile, Tserriednich proves to be the most terrifying threat on the ship — mastering the aura control most Nen users take years to learn in just hours, and Gyo in half a day. The 12th Prince is killed, a guard dies drained of blood, and Kurapika pays a brutal price every time he activates Emperor Time. In this breakdown we cover everything that happens on the first day: • The 12th Prince's murder • Tserriednich's terrifying Nen mastery • Kurapika's Steal Chain & the Little Eye cockroach spy • The Emperor Time cost — 150 days of life per hour • Benjamin's private army and the Kakin King's dark reveal • Which princes are forming alliances, and who's marked for death Disclaimer: This is a fan made analysis of the Hunter x Hunter manga (Succession War arc).
