🇯🇵 Private Tours in Japan 👉 https://maoexploringjapan.com/ Fully private, customized tours planned and guided by me. ⏱ CHAPTERS 00:00 Nikko in 5 mins 00:21 How Nikko works (two floors) 00:47 Getting there & tickets 01:42 First floor: World Heritage area 03:00 Lunch: Yuba 03:16 Second floor: Kegon Falls & Lake Chuzenji 03:50 Yumoto Onsen town 04:22 3 ways to plan (1 day or 2 days) 📍 Places I have visited : Yuzawaya (Manju) : https://share.google/2bjiEr36m7LdvvGcV Shinkyō Bridge : https://share.google/7521688jS2ULG9AWe Nikkō Tōshōgū : https://share.google/tcZ5GXhrcrMADad8F Rinnōji Temple : https://share.google/obEHH6RFohxfDmpMc Nikko Futarasan Shrine : https://share.google/NYUVtUVYIVTBXsVo1 Yuba cafe Hazuki : https://share.google/qjhlZM6ILM27pgQIT Kegon Waterfalls : https://share.google/svbJmxVj0mMWwweJZ Lake Chūzenji : https://share.google/qR6x6w17NLe3IOGkD Yumoto : https://share.google/hqnYiVWaH6FByQiCg 🎫 NIKKO TICKETS — WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU GET? Here’s the simple version 👇 🅰️ WANT THE EASIEST OPTION? 🎟 NIKKO PASS All Area — ¥8,000 🌏 For foreign visitors 📅 Valid for 4 days ✅ Round-trip train from Asakusa ✅ Unlimited buses around Nikko, including Lake Chuzenji & Yumoto Onsen ✅ Lake Chuzenji sightseeing cruise (when operating) 💡 The simplest option if you don’t want to think about separate train and bus tickets. 🏢 Buy online via TOBU or at TOBU Tourist Information Center Asakusa. ⸻ 🅱️ GOING ALL THE WAY TO YUMOTO / SENJOGAHARA? 🎟 Regular round-trip train + Yumoto Onsen Free Pass 🚆 Train: around ¥2,800 round trip 🚌 Yumoto Onsen Free Pass: ¥3,500 💴 Total: around ¥6,300 📅 Bus pass valid for 2 days ✅ Kegon Falls ✅ Lake Chuzenji ✅ Ryuzu Falls ✅ Senjogahara ✅ Yumoto Onsen 💡 This is what I used. ⸻ 🅲 ONLY GOING AS FAR AS KEGON FALLS / LAKE CHUZENJI? 🎟 Regular round-trip train + Chuzenji Onsen Free Pass 🚆 Train: around ¥2,800 round trip 🚌 Chuzenji Onsen Free Pass: ¥2,300 💴 Total: around ¥5,100 📅 Bus pass valid for 2 days 💡 Probably the best-value option for a typical 1-day trip if you’re visiting the temples + Kegon Falls + Lake Chuzenji, but NOT going farther to Senjogahara or Yumoto. ⸻ 🅳 ONLY VISITING THE WORLD HERITAGE / TEMPLE AREA? You have a few options: 🚶 Walk from Tobu-Nikko Station About 15–25 minutes depending on where you’re going. 🚌 Sekai-isan Meguri Tegata — ¥600 Unlimited rides on the World Heritage sightseeing bus for 1 day. OR 🎟 NIKKO PASS World Heritage Area — ¥3,000 🌏 For foreign visitors 📅 Valid for 2 days ✅ Round-trip train from Asakusa ✅ Trains/buses within the covered World Heritage area 💡 Good if you want your transportation from Tokyo included too. ⸻ 🚄 IMPORTANT — LIMITED EXPRESS TRAINS If you take a Limited Express such as SPACIA X or Revaty, you need a separate Limited Express ticket. ⚠️ The Limited Express ticket is NOT included in the NIKKO PASS or regular train fare. Think of it as: Regular fare / NIKKO PASS + Limited Express ticket = SPACIA X / Revaty ⸻ 💳 CAN I JUST USE SUICA / PASMO? Yes — Nikko buses accept IC cards, so you can simply tap in and out. 👍 Good if you’re only taking a few short bus rides. But if you’re going up to Kegon Falls / Lake Chuzenji and back, a bus pass can be cheaper. ⸻ 🗓 GOOD TO KNOW 🍁 Autumn: Mid-October to mid-November Beautiful, but expect heavy crowds. 🌿 Summer: Green and generally quieter. 🌧 Rainy day: The World Heritage area is still easy to explore. 🚡 Akechidaira Ropeway: Closed from Jan 16, 2026 to Aug 31, 2027 due to construction. The closure may be extended. ⛩ Toshogu Shrine: Opens at 9:00 AM — going early is highly recommended. 📍 MY ROUTE (one full day) 6:30 Asakusa → limited express 8:30 Tobu-Nikko Station → walk to the World Heritage area Morning: Shinkyo Bridge → Toshogu → Three Buddha Hall → Futarasan Shrine 12:00 Yuba lunch 13:00 Bus up the mountain (48 hairpin curves) Afternoon: Kegon Falls → Lake Chuzenji → Ryuzu Falls → Senjogahara → Yumoto Onsen 18:30 Last bus down → Tokyo around 10 PM
