🎫 NIKKO TICKETS — WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU GET?
Here’s the simple version 👇
🅰️ WANT THE EASIEST OPTION?
🎟 NIKKO PASS All Area — ¥8,000
🌏 For foreign visitors
📅 Valid for 4 days
✅ Round-trip train from Asakusa
✅ Unlimited buses around Nikko, including Lake Chuzenji & Yumoto Onsen
✅ Lake Chuzenji sightseeing cruise (when operating)
💡 The simplest option if you don’t want to think about separate train and bus tickets.
🏢 Buy online via TOBU or at TOBU Tourist Information Center Asakusa.
⸻
🅱️ GOING ALL THE WAY TO YUMOTO / SENJOGAHARA?
🎟 Regular round-trip train + Yumoto Onsen Free Pass
🚆 Train: around ¥2,800 round trip
🚌 Yumoto Onsen Free Pass: ¥3,500
💴 Total: around ¥6,300
📅 Bus pass valid for 2 days
✅ Kegon Falls
✅ Lake Chuzenji
✅ Ryuzu Falls
✅ Senjogahara
✅ Yumoto Onsen
💡 This is what I used.
⸻
🅲 ONLY GOING AS FAR AS KEGON FALLS / LAKE CHUZENJI?
🎟 Regular round-trip train + Chuzenji Onsen Free Pass
🚆 Train: around ¥2,800 round trip
🚌 Chuzenji Onsen Free Pass: ¥2,300
💴 Total: around ¥5,100
📅 Bus pass valid for 2 days
💡 Probably the best-value option for a typical 1-day trip if you’re visiting the temples + Kegon Falls + Lake Chuzenji, but NOT going farther to Senjogahara or Yumoto.
⸻
🅳 ONLY VISITING THE WORLD HERITAGE / TEMPLE AREA?
You have a few options:
🚶 Walk from Tobu-Nikko Station
About 15–25 minutes depending on where you’re going.
🚌 Sekai-isan Meguri Tegata — ¥600
Unlimited rides on the World Heritage sightseeing bus for 1 day.
OR
🎟 NIKKO PASS World Heritage Area — ¥3,000
🌏 For foreign visitors
📅 Valid for 2 days
✅ Round-trip train from Asakusa
✅ Trains/buses within the covered World Heritage area
💡 Good if you want your transportation from Tokyo included too.
⸻
🚄 IMPORTANT — LIMITED EXPRESS TRAINS
If you take a Limited Express such as SPACIA X or Revaty, you need a separate Limited Express ticket.
⚠️ The Limited Express ticket is NOT included in the NIKKO PASS or regular train fare.
Think of it as:
Regular fare / NIKKO PASS + Limited Express ticket = SPACIA X / Revaty
⸻
💳 CAN I JUST USE SUICA / PASMO?
Yes — Nikko buses accept IC cards, so you can simply tap in and out.
👍 Good if you’re only taking a few short bus rides.
But if you’re going up to Kegon Falls / Lake Chuzenji and back, a bus pass can be cheaper.
