Two hundred kilometres above the Arctic Circle, the Swedish town of Kiruna is being physically relocated — building by building — because the world's largest underground iron-ore mine has cracked the ground it stands on. In August 2025 they moved a 672-tonne church three kilometres in one piece. Beneath it all sits Europe's largest known rare-earth deposit, and the last migration route of a Sámi reindeer-herding community. 0:00 Cold Open 0:50 The Mountain That Pays For Everything 1:37 The Ground Is Cracking 2:26 Who Pays To Move A City 3:14 Six Hundred And Seventy-Two Tonnes 4:03 What Else Is Down There 5:23 Living In A Town That Is Leaving 6:10 Is It The Same Town 6:54 Would You Stay?
