Long Beach World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb 2026 Full Ceremony

On September 12, 2026, firefighters, first responders, families, community members, and supporters gathered at the Long Beach World Trade Center for the inaugural Long Beach World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. This video, filmed and produced by LBTV, presents the full opening ceremony from that morning. The Long Beach World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb was created to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters and all those who lost their lives as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, while ensuring that a new generation continues to understand the sacrifice, courage, and unity of that day. Following the ceremony, participants climbed 110 floors — five ascents of the 22-story World Trade Center — representing the height and sacrifice of those who climbed into the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001. The ceremony included the Long Beach Fire Department Honor Guard, Pipes & Drums by the Long Beach Pipe Band, remarks from fire service and community leaders, a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the Last Alarm, the National Anthem, and the voices and traditions of the fire service coming together in remembrance. This event was made possible through an extraordinary partnership between the Long Beach Firefighters Association Local 372, the Long Beach Fire Department, the Long Beach World Trade Center, our sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and hundreds of individuals who believed in the importance of keeping this history alive. Proceeds and support from the event benefited organizations dedicated to honoring and caring for the fire service and the families impacted by September 11, including the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation. Our deepest thanks to everyone who climbed, volunteered, sponsored, supported, spoke, performed, planned, worked behind the scenes, or simply stood with us that morning. And a special thank you to LBTV for documenting the ceremony and helping preserve this moment for generations to come. We climbed for those who could not. We climbed so their names and their sacrifice are never forgotten. We will continue to climb. NEVER FORGET.
