Nadine Sierra, Concert in Valencia, Spain – Vissi d'arte Brian Wagorn - Piano March 26, 2026. It was a genuine thrill finally to hear the American soprano Nadine Sierra in person. I had followed her career with great interest on social media for some time, but until now I had not had the opportunity to hear her live. She is due to appear in London next September, a visit that I am sure will be eagerly anticipated. Not only is she an exceptionally elegant and beautiful woman, but her voice and artistry are every bit as remarkable. The evening’s programme was varied, ranging from Mozart to Gershwin, the latter of which, to my mind, felt perhaps a little too distinctly American for a Spanish audience. I was fortunate to capture the encores from that evening, and I shall post them on YouTube. For me, Vissi d’arte was among the most sincere, deeply felt, and impeccably sung performances I have heard in a very long time; it moved me profoundly. I very much look forward to hearing her again—hopefully often, and in Europe—over the coming years.
