Ruby & The Rhythm Saints – What Good Is Winning? | 80s Soul-Blues

“What Good Is Winning?” is a slow-burning soul-blues ballad from Ruby & The Rhythm Saints, led by one of the Saints’ rich male voices and supported by Ruby’s warm background harmonies. With Rhodes piano, Hammond organ, restrained blues guitar and the atmosphere of a rediscovered early-1980s recording, the song asks a painful question: what is the value of winning an argument if pride costs you the person you love?
