Tecmo Super Bowl | Sega Genesis | Season 1 (1991) | Week 1 (49ers vs Giants)

The NES version has to be one of the very best games available for the Nintendo NES. I re-visited it recently and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I have been trying rom-hack versions with updated rosters and gameplay tweaks. But this led me to find the 16-bit version of Tecmo Super Bowl for the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive if you live in the UK like me, or most of the world actually!). This version very much keeps the same feel as the NES game but with the added detail in the graphics and some gameplay tweaks, I might dare to say this is actually quite a bit better than it's NES older brother. The changes are only small, but the ones I have noticed make the game a little more realistic than before (even though the NES version does a great job giving the realistic match experience in a very limited 8-bit system and like I say this version is mostly the same but with small changes). Hope you enjoy this new series as I will gradually work through all three seasons in the new "3 Season Mode", this time I play as the 49ers, starting in the year 1991!
