Fellow Spotlight: Little steps, big readers | How Alice Awour is transforming young minds

According to the 2026 Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (FLANA) Report by Usawa Agenda, 1 in 3 Grade 6 learners in Kenya cannot read and comprehend a Grade 3 English story, and that is why leaders like Alice matter. 💙 As a TFK Fellow, Alice saw this challenge firsthand and responded by launching the Little Steps Initiative to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy among young learners using locally available resources. We are proud to develop leaders who don’t wait for change; they create it.
