DJ Philip @ Carat

Carat (often referred to as Afterclub Carat) was a legendary Belgian nightclub located in Grobbendonk. It is considered one of the most iconic venues in the history of Belgian electronic music. Key Facts about Carat: The Concept: It was a premier "after-hours" club, opening its doors early on Sunday mornings (around 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM) for clubbers who weren't ready to go home after other venues closed on Saturday night. Musical Style: The club was famous for its "Carat sound," which consisted of deep, dark, and atmospheric retro house, trance, and progressive beats. Resident DJs: The club's identity was shaped by legendary residents such as DJ Philip, Franky Kloeck, Tofke, and Jan. Closure: Carat was shut down by authorities in February 2001 following a police raid and concerns over drug-related issues. The building was later repurposed and currently houses a casino (Magic Dice).
