Omelette Rice and Jazz at an Irresistibly Delicious Café I want to go to a café that serves omelette rice. If possible, one that is a little cute. An old-fashioned coffee shop would be lovely, or a tiny place with soft light coming in through the windows. I open the menu and hesitate for a moment: omelette rice, or maybe pasta instead? In the end, I order the omelette rice I had wanted from the beginning. And of course, coffee too. Even after I finish eating, I do not rush home. I sip my coffee, gaze vaguely out the window, read just a few pages of my half-finished book, think about what comes next, or think about nothing at all. Maybe that kind of time is something we can live without. I could eat at home, and I could make coffee at home too. A day passes just fine without going anywhere. But sometimes I think that the time we do not strictly need may be the time that matters most. Eating something a little more delicious than usual, ordering a drink I love, and spending time without needing to hurry. It is not a faraway trip, and it is not buying something special. And yet, that alone can make an ordinary day feel just a little special. I really like that kind of small luxury. Today, for no particular reason, I want to go to a café with omelette rice.
