Join me for a first-person virtual stroll through one of London's most breathtaking architectural icons: St. Pancras International! In this video, we explore a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic architecture. We’ll walk beneath the spectacular, light-filled Barlow train shed, catch a glimpse of the high-speed Eurostar trains connecting London to Paris and Brussels, and check out the vibrant concourse filled with boutiques and the famous public pianos. Whether you are an architecture enthusiast, a train lover, or just want to experience the international vibe of London, sit back and enjoy the tour! Fascinating Facts About St. Pancras International: Opening: The station was opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway and is celebrated as a triumph of Victorian engineering. The Engineering Marvel: The main train shed, designed by William Barlow, was the largest single-span roof in the world at the time of its construction, stretching 240 feet (73 meters) across without any internal support. Saved by a Poet: In the 1960s, the station narrowly escaped demolition. It was saved largely due to a fierce campaign led by Britain's Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman. A bronze statue of him now stands on the concourse to honor his efforts. Pop Culture & Hollywood: The grand Gothic front of the station was used as the exterior of "King's Cross" in the Harry Potter films because it looked far more magical. The iconic grand staircase inside the hotel was also the filming location for the Spice Girls' debut music video "Wannabe" in 1996. The Lovers' Statue: The station features a massive 9-meter-tall bronze statue named The Meeting Place (by Paul Day), depicting a couple embracing, which captures the romantic spirit of international travel. #streetwalker #derstraßenläufer #uk #England #ukwalk #londonwalk #povwalking #pov #4k #asmr #walking #ASMRWalk #london #silentstreetwalker #stpancras #stpancrasinternational #trainstation #Bahnhof
