Dubbed the "Queen of Country," Parton was one of the most honored performers of country music in history, earning eleven Grammy Awards and three Emmy Awards, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards, six Golden Globes and a Tony Award. She was also known for her cultural influence and philanthropy via Dollywood and the Dollywood Foundation. With more than 100 million records sold, Parton is among the best-selling music artists of all time. Born into poverty in rural Tennessee, Parton wrote her first song at age six, performed regularly on TV by age ten, made her first recording a year later, and became a professional songwriter at sixteen. After writing songs for others, she released her debut album, "Hello, I'm Dolly" (1967), starting a nearly 60-year career. She released 49 studio albums and wrote more than 3,000 songs, including "I Will Always Love You" (a two-time U.S. country chart-topper and an international success for Whitney Houston that sold 24 million copies worldwide), "Jolene", "Coat of Many Colors," and "9 to 5". Parton was hospitalized at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 21, 2026, and died after a "brief battle" with cancer on August 25, at age 80. About Regis Philbin: Regis Francis Xavier Philbin (August 25, 1931 – July 25, 2020) was an American television presenter, comedian, actor, and singer. Once called "the hardest-working man in show business," he continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the most hours spent on US television (posthumously). Philbin was born and raised in New York City. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he served in the U.S. Navy and got his television start serving as a page for The Tonight Show in the 1950s. Philbin got his first network television exposure in 1967 as Joey Bishop's sidekick on The Joey Bishop Show. He is most widely known as the co-host of the New York City–based nationally syndicated talk show Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee, starting in 1988, which became Live! with Regis and Kelly in 2001, and continued as Live! with Kelly after Philbin's departure in 2011. He is also well known as the original host of the American version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the most-watched prime-time series of the 1999–2000 U.S. television season.
