Ever wondered how discarded plastic bottles can be transformed into modern floor carpet? In this factory documentary, we follow the complete journey of used PET bottles as they are recycled and transformed into polyester carpet fibers and finished floor carpet. The process begins with compressed bales of discarded PET bottles. They are opened, sorted, washed, shredded, and purified into clean PET flakes. The recycled PET is then processed into reusable polymer material before being transformed into polyester filaments and carpet yarn. From there, the recycled polyester yarn enters a large-scale textile production line, where thousands of individual strands are fed into industrial tufting machines to gradually create the carpet surface. The unfinished carpet is then dyed, dried, stabilized, backed, surface-finished, trimmed, inspected, and finally rolled for packaging. Used PET Bottles → Sorting → Washing → Shredding → Clean PET Flakes → Recycled PET → Polyester Filaments → Carpet Yarn → Tufting → Dyeing → Backing → Finishing → Quality Control → Recycled Polyester Carpet This transformation shows how modern recycling and textile manufacturing can give discarded PET plastic an entirely new life as a practical interior material.
