Upper Whitewater Falls - Highest Waterfall East of the Rockies - Best NC Waterfalls

A short adventure to check out the roaring Upper Whitewater Falls on a rainy day. Located near Cashiers, NC, Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. Upper Whitewater Falls drops over 411 feet. The 400-ft. Lower Falls can be accessed from a different trailhead in South Carolina. It is easy to get a great view of Upper Whitewater Falls. After paying the parking fee follow the paved 1/4-mile walkway to the upper overlook. The lower overlook is located at the bottom of 154 wooden steps.
