Western Christian Rationalism

The espousal of Scholasticism and Humanism by the Catholic west had many catastrophic consequences. St Justin Popovic a great Serbian Father considers the Dogma of Papal Supremacy and Infallibility to be the third fall of man. The driving force of the continual development of Roman Catholic Dogma is reliance on the rational faculty over the Nous. This spirit of humanism and the denial of God's revelation found in his Church are what led to the emergence of Modernist and rationalistic philosophies and ideologies. As we can see in the West today these ideologies erode man's spiritual health and communion with God.
