Following a three year time skip, Son Goku reunites with his friends for the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai, where he meets and fights Piccolo for the first time. Following their fight is a five year time skip, after which the game goes through the events of the Saiyan Saga and the Namek Saga from Dragon Ball Z.
