I'm 42 years old and have been diagnosed with craniocervical instability. It's been 10 years since my initial symptoms. After a decade long path to diagnosis and treatment I'm making this series of videos entitled "Living with Craniocervical Instablity (CCI)". Craniocervical Instability (CCI) is an unusual condition caused by damaged or loose ligaments in upper neck joints that make it hard for you to hold your head up leading to muscle pain, headaches and nerve problems. Part 1 (How I got Craniocervical Instability) focuses on my early symptoms and initial efforts to obtain medical help. I talk about my first encounter with the mainstream medical system, massage therapy and chiropractic care. During this time alternative treatments allowed me to manage my pain while I pursued my athletic goals.
