Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium video tour including Superior King Room, swimming pool, and fitness center. Grand Mercure Atrium is a large (568-room) mid-priced 4-star hotel located in the Petchaburi area, near the Makkasan Airport rail link.
For this stay, I booked a Superior Room with king sized bed. The price was 52 USD (booked via the Accorhotels app).

Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium location
The hotel is located about 750 meters from the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. While it is possible to walk this distance, it may be quite a sweaty experience, especially if you have luggage. When arriving in Thailand, taking the Airport rail link can be a good way to save money on a taxi, as the fare from the airport to Makkasan Station is only 35 Baht. The MRT station is also located next to the Airport rail link from where you can access pretty much anywhere in Bangkok. Just remember that during rush hours 4-8 PM the MRT is extremely crowded.
Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium guest friendly?
Yes, the hotel is guest-friendly, with no extra charges (2 people per room max).
Swimming pool and fitness center
The swimming pool is located on the fourth floor, alongside the fitness center. The pool itself is relatively small for a hotel of this size (568 rooms), so it may get crowded.
The fitness center is well-equipped and includes all the essential equipment including leg press, dumbbells up to 20kg and multiple free weights.
Breakfast
The breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant. Included a lot of food choices, from Thai to Indian dishes, an extremely large bread selection, coffee from machines, and an egg cooking station. I would say the breakfast was quite good and extensive for this price range. However, it did get extremely crowded.
Is Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium good value for money?
The room quality and hotel facilities, such as the fitness center, swimming pool, and breakfast, meet the expected standards. However, the location is less than ideal for tourists, with public transport being 750 meters away and there is not much going on near the hotel. If you're just looking for a good hotel to stay for a few nights, this offers solid value at 50 USD per night.
