King's Birthday Holiday Weekend Running days (June 6 and 8)

Two interesting days on the Cascade Union Railway over the King's Birthday Holiday weekend. After recent running days where there were no Australian trains, Saturday saw quite a number of them running. The rest were the usual mix of North American and Japanese. Monday saw some interesting running as the top level of the layout was deemed fully operational. Trains can now go up the upper helix from Beena Jct up to Helena and Hylton. The track then runs into a temporary return loop, and access to the power station return loops and back to the helix. It seemed that everyone wanted to say they had run trains on the top level, so there was a steady queue of trains heading up there. A good number of them were coal trains as these trains will be servicing the power station, so members wanted to ensure their trains would work correctly.
