Crochet a Christmas Tree

This video shows you how to make a very quick and easy Christmas tree decoration. I use UK terms in all my videos and patterns and you can find the written pattern below. Pattern Start • Foundation Chain of 16 Row 1 • Htr in 2nd chain from the hook • Htr in next 14 chains (15 Htrs in total) • Ch 1 to turn In the following rows we are reducing the number of stitches in each row by 1. You would normally work in the 1st stitch of the row but we going to work in the 2nd stitch instead giving us 1 less stitch in each row. Row 2 • Htr in the 2nd stitch from the hook • Htr in the next 13 stitches (14) • Ch 1 to turn Row 3 to 15 • Repeat Row 2 (Number of stitches will reduce by 1 for each row) If necessary, continue until you end up working 1 Htr as your last stitch Tree Border - Optional • Ch 1 and work Dc along all 3 edges to give a neat finish • Sl st into the top of the tree to end Tree Trunk Start • Foundation chain of 6 Row 1 • Htr in 2nd chain from hook • Htr in next 4 chains • Ch 1 to turn Row 2 and 3 • Htr in each stitch (5) • Ch 1 to turn Cut the yarn leaving enough to sew the stem to the tree.
