Genesis 17 • The Covenant Sealed, The Seed Promised

God appears to Abraham at 99 — short of perfection, yet complete in the promise. Names change. The covenant is sealed. Circumcision is given — not to earn righteousness, but as a sign of what faith already received. Isaac is promised — born at the set time, when all natural hope was gone. The numbers tell the story: 999 — God's faithful witness, pointing to the One who completes the number. When received, it leads to the perfection found in Christ. When trusted as an end in itself, that same pattern inverts — 666 — the outward form without the Saviour. The old covenant served its season; the everlasting covenant stands forever in the true Seed — Jesus Christ. 📖 Scripture: Genesis 17 🔗 Key Verses: Galatians 3:16 • Romans 4:11–12 • Revelation 13:18 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." — Galatians 3:16 Thank you for watching — may the Lord bless your study of His Word.
