I've been to Kanazawa at least five times, and its food still makes me glad I came from Osaka. On this two-night trip, sushi and Kanazawa oden were two of the highlights. Gasu-ebi shrimp, sake, and nama-fu sweets are some of the things I'd love you to try here. I also took the Hokuriku Railroad to Tsurugi. While exploring near the station, I found an old railway route and followed it to the former Kaga-Ichinomiya Station, then farther along the river. I hadn't planned that walk, and discovering where the path led was one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip. Back in the city, come along for Kenrokuen, Kanazawa Castle and Higashi Chaya, with stops for yoshoku, shaved ice and craft beer. We also take a local train out to Uchinada's wide beach. From regional food to these unexpected discoveries, this is the Kanazawa that makes me want to come back. Filmed May 16–18, 2026. English AI narration; subtitles in 7 languages.
