Why Does Lightning Only Strike This One House? The Buried Secret Beneath a Sacred Tree

Locals say this house has been struck by lightning again and again — while every other house nearby has never been touched. Just steps away, an ancient banyan tree stands scorched and hollow, its bark cracked and blackened from being struck so many times over the years. In Vietnamese folklore, there's an old saying: "The banyan tree is sacred, the kapok tree is haunted." Ancient trees like this one are often tied to stories no one can fully explain — and this one may be no exception. We searched beneath the tree with a metal detector and uncovered an old buried jar. Inside was a dark red liquid, and at the bottom, a tarnished ancient coin no one could identify. We chose not to keep it.
