For the first time ever, we left the shore behind, picked up a fishing rod and headed out into the North Atlantic in search of mackerel! 🎣🌊 This adventure starts from Portrush Harbour in Northern Ireland, where we joined Causeway Boats aboard the Causeway Lass for a 3-hour mackerel fishing trip. And there was one small problem… we had absolutely no sea-fishing experience! 😄 Even putting a choonda back home wasn’t exactly something we could claim much experience with — so heading into the Atlantic with fishing rods in our hands was completely new for us. From learning how the mackerel rig works and dropping our lines into the deep water, to waiting for that first pull on the rod… this turned into one of those simple family adventures that we’ll remember for a long time.
