"There are a quarter of a million people who are eligible to be on the roll who are not on the roll - they will not be able to vote. Or if their vote is taken, it will be an invalid vote." Hipkins blames the government's law change, ending same day enrolments. The Electoral Commission released provisional numbers on Friday morning showing 93.6 percent of the eligible population have enrolled (3,790,946 people), down from 94.7 percent in 2023.
