I never expected to discover this side of Tripura! 🇮🇳 In this episode, I take you to Khumulwng, a beautiful and culturally significant town in Tripura, Northeast India. From peaceful roads and beautiful surroundings to the warmth of the local people, this journey turned out to be a completely unexpected experience. Khumulwng is the headquarters of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), an important institution established to protect and support the rights, identity, culture, and development of Tripura’s indigenous communities. During my visit, I also explore a little of Tripura’s fascinating history, the legacy of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, and the significance of Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, a prominent voice for the indigenous Tiprasa people. But this journey isn’t just about history! I explore the beautiful surroundings of Khumulwng, meet some wonderful local people, try Aamra fruit for the first time, discover authentic local food, and experience a traditional pork preparation unlike anything I’ve tried before. From unexpected conversations and local hospitality to the peaceful surroundings of the TTAADC Eco Park, this is a side of Tripura I genuinely wasn’t expecting.
