Following reports of hundreds of mysterious deaths and alleged unmarked burials in and around Dharmasthala, the Government of Karnataka has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DGP Dr. Pranav Mohanty of the Internal Security Division. Various media platforms — including YouTube journalists, print, and visual media — have covered the developments with differing narratives. An unidentified witness has filed a complaint at the Beltangadi Police Station, claiming to have buried over 400 bodies in the region, and has reportedly testified before the court. In response, D. Harshendra Kumar has filed a civil suit (OS case) at the Bengaluru City Civil & Sessions Court, seeking a mandatory interim injunction against 338 individuals and media houses. According to a Deccan Herald report dated July 22, the court has granted an ex-parte mandatory injunction restraining these parties — including national and regional media outlets, YouTube channels, and digital platforms — from publishing or broadcasting defamatory content about the Dharmasthala temple, its administrators, and associated institutions. The judge has further directed deletion and de-indexing of previously published content. This unprecedented case raises critical questions about the functioning of the SIT, legal implications, and the balance between freedom of expression and defamation. Senior High Court advocate B.T. Venkatesh speaks to Trivarna News about the legal, ethical, and constitutional aspects surrounding the issue. •••••••••• Trivarna News- ಸಮಗ್ರ ಸುದ್ದಿ- ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ಕನ್ನಡ • Subscribe:    / @trivarnanewskannada   • Facebook:   / trivarnanews   • X:   / trivarnanews   • Instagram:   / trivarnanewskannada   •••••••••• ⚠️Disclaimer: The content in the video is for informational purposes only.
