We are thrilled to be broadcasting the fourth episode of our LinkedIn Live series focused on climate finance and cities. Cities are dynamic and vibrant spaces, bringing together a diverse mix of people, economic activity, and built environments. They offer both inspiration and challenges because, while they act as centres of opportunity, innovation, and diversity, they are also sites of inequality and sources of high emissions. Resultantly, their role in the fight against climate change is becoming increasingly vital, as cities both significantly contribute to it and are deeply affected by its impacts. To ensure cities remain places of possibility, we must make them more sustainable. This requires unlocking appropriate finance and investing in initiatives that make our cities greener. In this series, we’ve been diving into the world of climate finance and cities with a wide range of professionals in the industry. In our first instalment, Grant, Founder of E Co. had a discussion with two E Co. urban experts, Isaacnezer Njuguna and Tamara Trumbić, who both have vast but contrasting experience on urban sustainability projects. You can find the discussion here -   / theater   In session two, Grant was joined by Elizabeth Mungai from C40 Cities to explore how African cities can access and leverage climate finance. You can find the discussion here -   / theater   In the third conversation, Grant sat down with Dr. Meggan Spires, who currently serves as Director: Climate Change: Energy and Resilience at ICLEI Africa. With over a decade of experience at ICLEI, Meggan brings deep expertise in supporting cities as they lead the way on climate action, energy transition, and urban resilience. In this episode, we’re delighted to host Tali Trigg, a Principal of the Green Cities Programme at the EBRD. As the EBRD’s first electric mobility specialist, Tali brings a unique perspective on green city initiatives and how best to finance them. Grant will tap into Tali’s experience to explore: 🔹 The strategies the EBRD uses to mobilise climate action in cities 🔹 Key lessons the EBRD has learned about engaging stakeholders effectively in city initiatives 🔹 Tali’s perspective on which sectors tend to attract more climate finance, and why 🔹 Exciting projects Tali has worked on throughout his career We also invite you to join our Q&A to engage with us and provide your own views on the space. Register now and see you on Monday 16 June at 12:30pm UK time
