Welcome to Eneris World The St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, established in 1760, is considered the cradle of Christianity in Eastern Nueva Ecija. Its historical milestones include:  Early Mission: It was originally a visita (mission station) of nearby Santor in the late 16th century. Foundation: It was officially declared an independent parish in 1760, with St. Francis of Assisi designated as its patron saint. Early friars used the saint's teachings to pacify the local warlike tribes in the area. Brick and Stone Church: The construction of the church using heavy masonry was initiated by Augustinian friar Fr. Juan del Olmo between 1894 and 1896. Revolution and War: The outbreak of the Philippine Revolution halted construction, and the incomplete structure was converted into a garrison by the Katipunan revolutionaries, leading to the capture of the Spanish friars. Reconstruction: The unfinished structure was further damaged by a fire and an earthquake in the early 20th century. It was subsequently reconstructed using locally available materials and continues to serve the community today.
