Poetry Event | Carolyn Carlson | Festival ARTONOV 2018 | Grand Narthex | Bruxelles FR 🔸 Un cœur qui bat, qui propulse la vie dans un corps qui à son tour ondule, virevolte. Mandala fascine le spectateur par son rythme hypnotique, accompagné avec justesse par la musique puissante de Michael Gordon. Au cercle de l’enso, qui symbolise à la fois l’univers et le geste artistique parfait, peut également s’ajouter la référence aux agroglyphes, ces motifs circulaires apparus dans les champs de céréales. Manifestations géométriques aux origines mystérieuses, ils apparaissent comme autant de messages émis par une force de l’esprit, peut-être venue d’ailleurs, et semblent vouloir nous rappeler la part d’inconnu qui subsiste tout autour de nous. Sara Orselli donne corps à ce solo qui représente l’aboutissement de la complicité nouée depuis plus d’une décennie avec Carolyn Carlson. NL 🔸 Een kloppend hart dat het leven voortstuwtin een lichaam dat, op zijn beurt, golft en wervelt. Mandala fascineert door zijn hypnotisch ritme, perfect ondersteund door de krachtige muziek van Michael Gordon. Naast de verwijzingen aan de enso-cirkel, die zowel het universum als het perfecte artistieke gebaar symboliseert wordt hier ook gerefereerd aan de agroglyphen, de cirkelvormige motieven die in graanvelden opduiken. Het zijn mysterieuze geometrische erschijnselen die lijken te duiden op door een mentale kracht gestuurde boodschappen, misschien afkomstig uit een “elders”, en die ons herinneren aan al het onbekende dat rondom ons blijft bestaan. Deze solo, gedanst door Sara Orselli, is het resultaat van een meer dan 10 jaar lange nauwe samenwerking tussen de danseres en Carolyn Carlson. EN 🔸 A heart that beats, that propels life in a body which in turn undulates, twirls. Mandala fascinates the viewer with its hypnotic rhythm, accompanied by the powerful music of Michael Gordon. In the circle of the enso (ultimately meaning circle), which perfectly symbolizes both the universe and artistic gesture, it also makes reference to the crop circles, these circular patterns which appear in wheat fields. Geometric anifestations with mysterious origins, they seem to be messages emitted by a force of the spirit, perhaps from elsewhere, trying to remind us of the pieces of the unknown remaining all around us.
