Katy, Texas contractor Michael Seery paid his employee Ricardo Obando Jr. to kill a man he believed had an affair with his wife 12 years earlier. On Feb. 4, 2025, Obando shot a commuter on the Grand Parkway. He survived, and he was the wrong man: the target had moved out. Both were sentenced to life in federal prison in April 2026.
