Kelp will be my main source of fuel for my 1.21 survival world. It will fuel my super smelter and cactus XP farm.
In this video we dig deep into Kelp mechanics and the flaws/advantages of existing farms, before designing our own efficient design using what we learned.
You can build the farm as tall as you want, and as long as you want which will increase the rates.
If you want to extend it on the sides, you will need to add support to the scaffolding, or build another one side by side.
This video took a ton of research, experimenting and recording/editing (it's more than 2weeks in the making !).
