Eric Hirshberg - Day One (Official Video)

Add "Day One" to your collection here: https://ffm.to/erichirshbergdayone "Day One" is the 7th single from my album, "Second Hand Smoke." It's about getting the toxic relationships out of your life--and how weirdly difficult that is to do. Lyrics and credits below: Shaking your head, under your breath, you say this sh*t is no joke You breathe in toxic people just like second hand smoke Share a room long enough, you’re the one who’s gonna choke Worst of all, you’ll think that it’s you You call someone a cancer, that might not just be a line You used to love to dance and not get headaches all the time You used to shine Do you remember? Was that even you? You should be asking What would you need to know to leave? What would you leave to need to know? Maybe one day you’ll find out Sometimes the only way forward is out Maybe one day you’ll finally be done Maybe one day it’ll be day one Well, there are energy givers and energy takers Confidence builders and confidence breakers The hospital beds are filled with all of the makers Who stuck with an a**hole too long But it’s never too late, and it’s never too soon It’s never that great when you start to assume That you’re immune That you can take it Or worse that you can break it, ‘cause you won’t What would you need to know to leave? What would you leave to need to know? Maybe one day you’ll find out Sometimes the only way forward is out Maybe one day you’ll finally be done Maybe one day it’ll be day one How much more can you take? Why is this orbit so hard to break? You think you can change it But you know that’s a mistake Why do you feel feel ashamed? Does part of you still think you’re to blame I’m not giving up, I’m letting go Song credits: Words and music by Eric Hirshberg Produced by Eric Hirshberg Mixed and Engineered by Will Hensley Mastered by Whynot Jansveld Band: Michael Chaves: Guitar, Backing Vocals Eric Hirshberg: Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar Matt Rubano: Bass Neara Russell: Keyboards, Backing Vocals Maiya Sykes: Backing Vocals Brendan Buckley + Blair Sinta: Drums Video credits: Directed by Josh S.
