Jim here, and today we are bringing a very unique and mesmerizing piece out of the collection to share with you: the VE-01 Crossbeam Vacuum Engine, also known as a Flame Licker or Flame Gulper. I recently spent some time out in the workshop making a few modifications to this beauty, specifically adding a custom drive pulley so we could put it to work. Instead of just letting it run free, we are belting it up to drive some fantastic accessories. In this video, you'll see the VE-01 get up to temperature and smoothly power a classic Fleischmann Sausage Man, as well as a DIY Baker Fan to give it a bit of a load.
