Jesus is standing outside the door.
And He does not open it.
In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “I stand at the door and knock.” But only a few lines earlier, Laodicea had said something far more dangerous:
“I am rich… I need nothing.”
That changes the entire picture.
This Bible study follows the detail most people rush past: Jesus knocks, speaks, corrects, and calls for repentance — but the person on the other side still has to respond.
And when the door finally opens, Jesus does not simply say, “I will come in.”
He says He will sit down and eat.
The verse moves from a closed door… to a shared table… and then, one verse later, to a throne.
Door. Table. Throne.
Revelation 3:20 may be far more confronting — and far more beautiful — than the verse many of us learned.
