After visiting Malindi and Watamu beaches, I came to Mokowe by bus and from Mokowe I crossed to the island by local boat (ticket price 300 Kenyan Shillings (2.31 USD)). After arriving at the port on Lamu Island, I paid 6.86 USD per night for my hotel, which is 100-150 meters from the oceanside.On Lamu Island, I generally preferred seafood; it was delicious because fishing is common on the island and the produce is always fresh.I paid 500 KSH (3.86 USD) for the fish soup you'll see in the video.The architecture of the streets was excellent. You can visit the local market in Lamu Town Square, and there's another quite long shopping street starting from Town Square where you can take a walk – it's a wonderful experience. To get from Lamu Town to Shela Beach, I made an agreement with the motorbikes in the area and paid 100 KSH (0.77 USD) for a one-way trip.Shela beach is truly a perfect place to swim; the beach was very clean and the view in the morning looked amazing.
