Popper - Etude No. 4

from David Popper's High School of Cello Playing, Op. 73 While last week's etude (No. 3) was in one of the flat-most keys (B-flat minor), No. 4 is in one of the sharp-most keys (F-sharp major). That makes it equally as challenging, once again featuring note patterns that we rarely encounter as cellists. Additionally, this is the first of the etudes that uses a significant amount of thumb position. As you might notice, I changed quite a few of the fingerings from the original edition (which I believe are Popper's own?). I hope this is not sacrilegious - after struggling miserably with those fingerings, I thought maybe it could also be considered a study in finding fingerings that suit your hand better...
