Its geological history is particularly fascinating: Today’s Glütschbach Valley follows the old course of the Kander River, before it was diverted directly into Lake Thun at the beginning of the 18th century via the famous Kander Canal. The valley’s main highlights • Guntelsey Stalactite Caves: These fascinating, easily accessible caves in the vertical limestone cliffs are the valley’s most famous attraction. Water drips steadily from the rocks, often forming impressive icicles in winter. • Beaver habitats: Beavers have resettled just before Allmendingen.
