Discover the real Tripoli, Lebanon, through the eyes of a local! Join Anthony Rahayel and Khaled for an unforgettable two-day journey through Tripoli and El Mina, exploring authentic Lebanese street food, hidden gems, traditional bakeries, fresh seafood, historic neighborhoods, inspiring entrepreneurs, and the wonderful people who make this city special. From the old streets of Tripoli to the Mediterranean fishing harbor of El Mina, this documentary celebrates the city’s extraordinary culinary heritage, traditions, hospitality, and exciting new developments. DAY 1: THE OLD & NEW TRIPOLI Our journey begins with Khaled, a proud Tripoli native who takes us beyond the usual tourist attractions to discover his hometown’s hidden treasures. We start with traditional Lebanese kaak and coffee at Sah Sah, a successful local business that grew from a small kiosk into a popular concept with several branches. As we explore Tripoli, we discover neighborhoods undergoing transformation, community initiatives, traditional businesses, and inspiring local personalities working to improve their city. Tripoli is famous for its incredible Lebanese street food. We visit traditional bakeries, discover authentic Tripolitan kaak, meet experienced bakers, and taste specialties that have been part of the city’s identity for generations. From old family businesses to innovative food concepts, we explore the contrast between tradition and modernity. Along the way, Khaled introduces us to entrepreneurs, craftsmen, food vendors, and passionate locals whose stories reveal the true spirit of Tripoli. DAY 2: DISCOVERING EL MINA Our second day takes us to El Mina, Tripoli’s beautiful Mediterranean coastal city, known for its fishing harbor, seafood, traditional restaurants, and vibrant local community. We explore the fishing port, meet local fishermen, discover freshly caught Mediterranean fish, and learn about the traditions and challenges of Lebanon’s fishing industry. From the boats to the fish market, we experience the authentic atmosphere of El Mina and the people whose livelihoods depend on the sea. We continue through the streets, discovering traditional bakeries, local food businesses, creative restaurants, and new culinary concepts. One of our discoveries is Beit El Mina, a community-oriented dining destination combining Lebanese hospitality, traditional cuisine, and social impact. We meet the people behind the initiative, explore its story, and discover how food can support local communities and bring people together. TRIPOLI: A CITY OF FOOD, PEOPLE & STORIES What makes Tripoli extraordinary isn’t only its food or historic landmarks. It’s the people. Throughout these two days, we meet passionate entrepreneurs, traditional craftsmen, talented bakers, fishermen, and families preserving the city’s culinary identity. We discover a Tripoli that respects its past while embracing the future. A city of incredible Lebanese street food, authentic hospitality, creativity, resilience, and unforgettable human connections. WHY VISIT TRIPOLI & EL MINA? If you’re planning a trip to Lebanon, Tripoli deserves a place on your itinerary.
