We Had the #1 Seed on the Ropes... | Mallards vs Dingoes

The Quarterfinals were finally here. After surviving the first round, the Mallards faced our biggest challenge of the season: the undefeated #1 seed. Despite the matchup, we came into this one with all the confidence in the world that we could pull off the upset. Map 1 was an absolute battle. We came up just short in a closely contested Hardpoint, but immediately fought back in Map 2 behind a massive 14-6 performance from me to even the series. Map 3 didn't go our way, putting us on the brink of elimination. But we knew exactly what we needed. Our first Hardpoint had been extremely close, while we had completely dominated the Search & Destroy. If we could steal Map 4, we knew we had a real chance to force the series all the way back. Unfortunately, we came up just short once again. Another incredibly close Hardpoint slipped away, ending our Summer League playoff run and bringing our season to an end. Final Score: Mallards 1 - 3 Dingoes It's a disappointing way to end the season, especially knowing how close we were to turning this into a completely different series. But I'm proud of how this team continued to fight, especially considering how new our roster was and everything we had to overcome throughout the season. As for what's next, honestly... I don't know. I don't know if this will be our last competitive season on this title, and I don't know if we'll be back for the Fall League. For now, we'll just have to see how things play out.
