🦝 SURPRISE RACCOON Visits Our Campsite! | Spruce Woods Provincial Park Yurt Camping Adventure IN THIS VIDEO: We pack up the van, hit the road across Manitoba, stop for an incredible drone photography session over a stunning canola field, move into a beautiful yurt, encounter amazing wildlife, enjoy a relaxing campfire, and cook delicious ribeye steaks to end an unforgettable first day! Our adventure begins at home on a very windy morning as we pack everything into the van before heading west toward Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Before leaving the city, we stop in Winnipeg to fuel up for a much better price than back home in Steinbach. Travelling west along the Trans-Canada Highway, just past Elie, Manitoba, an incredible canola field immediately caught my attention. Two lone trees stood perfectly in the middle of a brilliant yellow field. I couldn't resist pulling over onto the gravel road to capture the scene from both the ground and the air. The drone footage turned out incredible and perfectly showcased the beauty of the Manitoba prairies. Continuing our journey, we're excited to see Highway 5 finally receiving fresh pavement before arriving at one of Manitoba's most beautiful provincial parks. After arriving at Spruce Woods Provincial Park, we park the van, load everything onto a wagon, and make the walk down the trail to our yurt. Shortly after settling in, a light rain shower rolls through before we head out to explore the campground and surrounding trails. Back at camp, I spend some time filming the tiny wild berries around our campsite in beautiful slow motion before a friendly red squirrel drops by looking for sunflower seeds. We relax in our camping chairs with some refreshing Yerba Tea while enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. As evening approaches, it's time to fire up the charcoal barbecue and prepare some mouthwatering ribeye steaks. Then something completely unexpected happens... A curious raccoon wanders directly into our campsite and slowly walks toward my camera until it's only inches away from the lens! I've photographed plenty of wildlife over the years, but never had a wild raccoon get this close. It was one of the highlights of the entire camping trip. We finish the evening with perfectly grilled ribeye steaks, a warm campfire, and another unforgettable day surrounded by the incredible beauty of Manitoba.
