Goa is so much more than beaches, shacks, and nightlife. 🌿 In this vlog, we take you to Savoi Plantation, a beautiful 200-year-old eco-tourism estate tucked away in the peaceful village of Savoi-Varem. Surrounded by spice plantations, a natural spring, and the serene Mandovi River, this hidden gem offers a glimpse into Goa’s rich agricultural heritage and traditional Saraswat cuisine. We explored the plantation on a guided walk, learning about spices like black pepper, cardamom, vanilla, and nutmeg before sitting down for a wholesome farm-to-table meal prepared using age-old cooking techniques. ✨ Here’s what you’ll see in this vlog: • A guided tour through the organic spice plantation • Traditional Saraswat Goan lunch made with fresh, homegrown ingredients • The peaceful countryside that most tourists never get to experience • Our honest thoughts on whether the experience is worth it 💰 Our Experience: • Price: ₹1,500 per person (prices may vary by season) • Booking: Advance booking (at least 24 hours) is recommended • Distance: Around 50 minutes from Panaji (best reached by private vehicle or taxi) 🐾 The plantation is pet-friendly, but we chose not to bring Chica and Ash as there were quite a few community dogs around, and we felt it would have been stressful for everyone. While we absolutely loved the authentic food and peaceful setting, we did feel that the guided tour itself was a little shorter than expected. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience if you’re looking to discover the quieter, more authentic side of Goa.
