Our journey begins at the Horse Statue Roundabout, near the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta. From there, we’ll head toward TB Simatupang Road in South Jakarta. Along the way, we’ll travel on some of the capital city’s main roads. We’ll be surrounded by towering skyscrapers that have become symbols of Jakarta’s modern skyline and rapid development. On this cool Saturday morning, many cycling enthusiasts are taking advantage of the pleasant weather. They ride together in groups along the left side of the road. Occasionally, however, some cyclists also use the main lanes shared with four-wheeled vehicles. We will also cross the Antasari Flyover, a 4.8-kilometer elevated road stretching from Blok M to TB Simatupang. The flyover stands approximately 10 to 12 meters above the ground and was built to help reduce traffic congestion in the capital. It is intended exclusively for four-wheeled vehicles. Beneath the flyover, there is another roadway that can be used by all types of vehicles.
