The Most Terrifying Lengths of Time Your Brain Can't Comprehend

Deep time breaks the human brain — your subjective present lasts only about three seconds. This film climbs five timescales the mind can't feel, from an eight-minute-old photon to Earth's 4.54-billion-year age, Gabon's 1.7-billion-year-old natural reactors and the 13.8-billion-year-old hiss of the cosmic microwave background. It visits Onkalo, WIPP, the 10,000 Year Clock and Voyager 1's Golden Record to ask what you do in the next three seconds that could matter in 100,000 years.
