Impossible Climb Andler 2026 | Devil's Hill 😈

They don't call it the Impossible Climb around here. The locals call it the Teufelshang; the Devil's Hill. 100 meters of loose rock and gravel in a closed quarry in Andler, a village in East Belgium a few kilometers from the German border. No timing, no laps. You just have to get higher than everyone else. Most riders don't get close. This was the 25th edition, and around 70 riders lined up. Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, England and for the first time in the event's history, a group of eight riders who flew in from Brazil. Roel Geurts was back too, one of the very few people who has ever put a bike on top of this thing. 25 years ago this was four riders, a beer tent and snow on the ground. The first edition was held in December because the organizers didn't want to wait. Now there are four campsites and the place is full to the limit. One rider we couldn't film on the hill: Klaus Knein, 68, from the Eifel. He has attacked this hill 23 times. This year surgery kept him off the bike and he had to watch from the fence. "It hurts a lot," he said.
