In Part 2 of this October 2021 edition of All Angles, TVJ speaks with a former member of Pathway International Kingdom in Albion, St. James, following the tragic events that brought the organisation into national focus. The former member, identified as “David” to protect his identity, describes how he first became involved with the organisation at age 17 and why he initially viewed the church as a positive influence and a way to build a better life. He goes on to describe what he says were warning signs that emerged over time, including restrictions on his personal freedom, having to seek permission to socialise, living with other young male members, performing duties for the church and ministry, and what he describes as efforts to influence members' attitudes toward women. The interview provides a firsthand account of his experience and forms part of All Angles' October 2021 examination of Pathway International, cult-like organisations, and the warning signs families and communities should recognise.
