I've heard things about this pack. Mostly about how difficult it is. And base game Recursed already gave me so much trouble that I did not finish the game for years. Only recently did I come back and finish the Cauldron levels. I still had no plan to play this expansion. However, when I was following someone else's playthrough on Youtube. I fully expected them to end at The Last Tapestry since the Ice Palace is a fan expansion. They ended up moving on to the Ice Palace even after learning that they are not part of the official game. Since I wasn't planning on playing this I watched the video. After watching the first level I decided to get the expansion myself and play it. Because I noticed something that the player I was watching didn't notice. Which already speaks volumes about how good the pack is.
This marks the third time that I tried to play something I don't expect to finish and ended up finishing it. First is I Wanna Lockpick. Second is Maxwell's Puzzling Demon. I call this the puzzle game magic. When a puzzle game is good enough it will motivate you to finish it regardless of how difficult it is.
So this level called "easy mode" is of course very simple on the surface. Most base game Recursed levels are probably harder than this. But if you are attentive enough you would probably notice the seemingly unnecessary jar spot. The level is totally possible without the jar spot with clever green chest manipulation. Then either through base game exploration or learning from later levels in this pack, you'll know of the existence of "glitch rooms" from entering an already used jar. And that makes removing the green chest from its original room possible. Thus a paradox can occur. When entering the paradox room the goal can be immediately deduced. Create a paradox again with a key in your hand. And that's where the real puzzle of this level starts. The fact that the level creator managed to force such complex series of event in what's essentially a one room puzzle is amazing. This was the perfect introduction to this pack.
I didn't actually finish the puzzle in this video but I've figured out most of the tricks. Now to connect them together in a way that solves the level...
