The God We Have Forgotten | Nahum | Pastor David Ashley What happens when the church wants God's love but not His holiness? His forgiveness but not His authority? His blessings without His judgment? In this message from the book of Nahum, Pastor David Ashley confronts a truth the modern church desperately needs to recover: God is not a tame God. He is holy, righteous, jealous, just, merciful, patient, powerful—and good. Hebrews 12:29 says, “Our God is a consuming fire.” Nahum shows us the God before whom mountains quake and rocks shatter, yet that same God is a stronghold for those who take refuge in Him. This message is a call to wake up. A call to pastors to preach the whole counsel of God. A call to fathers and mothers to disciple their children. A call to men to stop merely talking about biblical manhood and start living it. A call to the church to stop protecting reputations while ignoring evil. And above all, a call to sinners to repent and take refuge in Jesus Christ. God's wrath is not an embarrassing part of the gospel. Without judgment, mercy means nothing. Without wrath, grace loses its meaning. At the cross, God did not ignore sin—Christ bore the judgment sinners deserved.
